A bit off topic, but I'm loving the Valans series of audiobooks. I keep saying "this is the last one," and then "Okay, just one more." Lol. The only thing I would suggest is a way to tie them to the kindle/paper book pages, so that people know they are up. I like how they're bundled, and maybe that's necessary to get enough length to be "credit worthy", but perhaps also split them up so they can be linked to the individual books?
ReplyDeleteI would *Love* to see Children of Steel as an audiobook, but I understand those probably don't have enough sales to make that happen. Though, new covers might help goose regular kindle sales.
Unfortunately, because of the way Amazon does business, I can't link them. There will be more Valens' books coming out soon in paperback, but I don't know how long the audiobooks are going to take, as I'm on contract for those with Podium Publishing.
DeleteAnd yeah, it would be nice to do Children of Steel as an audiobook. But it wouldn't be at all cheap as it's really long.
Still, maybe I'll give a kickstarter on it a go one of these days. I just wonder if I should have it done by a guy or a gal?
I would say a guy; the person who's doing the Valens series would be perfect. Since I'm playing with your money, "The Kind of Las Vegas" would also be a great one, lol!
DeleteActually, though, I really would suggest getting more up to date covers for that (Children of Steel) series. There was nothing wrong with them when they came out, but covers have gotten so good since then that I suspect the old covers hurt the sales. Given the characters, I would think that people who like the Valens series should also like that one, though there isn't perfect overlap (much less sex in that one.) I wonder if that one would be worth redoing under your Valens name? Might help with the discoverability. Anyway, thanks for all the great stories, and I hope you're having a good summer.
