Up Coming Audio Book Releases on Audible

Okay everyone, here is the current release schedule for the next set of audiobooks on Audible.

From Podium Publishing:

Books 15/16 heading out for release on January 28

The next pair of Wives Tales will be Feb 25

And No Regrets is likely late March or early April release - exact date TBD but I’ll keep you posted.

I've not been getting much done the last couple of weeks, I've been enjoying the time off and lack of deadlines. Which of course isn't going to last much longer :-)

I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday!

  1. First off thanks for the series... Absolutely love it and waiting on the audio books so that I can re experience it.

That said, there is one thing I am a little sad about. How is it Sean discovers the ability to draw energy from the silver conversion process but never actually builds a staff or some sort of weapon that allows him to fire off massive spells from some internal store of silver? Hell I am having a hard time fathoming that even the demon kings would have been able to stand up Sean if he had a staff that allowed him to hurl silver conversion fuelled spells at him

    1. You have to understand that Sean is terribly paranoid about anyone else ever discovering that spell and its ability. It essentially gives any mage who is skilled enough the ability to make an atomic bomb. An atomic bomb as large as they want to make it.

This is why Sean doesn't have extra devices lying around, just the ones that he's planning on using right now. It's why he won't put it in anything else, beyond the silver tags - all of which are encrypted and that portion of the spell is deeply buried besides.

It's also why he's created the myth that these explosions are actually something that the lions are able to do, when sufficiently enraged.

I don't know where you are in the series, but Sean has mention more than once that he has torn those pages out of his father's spell book and burned them. He will never teach that spell to anyone who isn't a lion and who he doesn't trust not to violate his decision on its use.

He's also afraid, that beyond being stolen, if someone sees him doing it enough, that they will figure out that it isn't a 'lion ability' but is in fact a magical ability, and will figure it out just like his father did.

So he has made the conscious decision, based on his conscience, that he would rather suffer the penalties of not using the spell, rather than risk it becoming known by anyone beyond him. As the First was in his head when he learned the spell, he probably knows it too. But you may notice that the First has not argued with him on this point, and appears to be in agreement with him.

This is a good question btw, it just comes down to being a big moral decision that Sean had to make.

    2. I have read all the books. I like your answer even though I disagree with the position.

First I forget the name of the teenage mage he is now teaching. But if he is sufficiently motivated I think he would be able to discover it. The whole magic being computer programming thing just greatly simplified learning magic enough that a motivated mage will rediscover this.

Less defensible from my perspective but still a nit pick on my part is. He doesnt have to share the artifact he uses to ondemand convert a silver resevoir to magical energy.

With all that being said I can by your justification. That said, thank you very much for the story and I look forward to whatever spin offs you do. The whole exploration of magic and applying what is learned is what kept me coming back and I hope there is more of that

  3. Thanks for the update, I think I am in withdrawal I love these books and want more of them, I know your wrapping up the series, and I will likely listen to them all one after the other shortly after finishing the series. I have looked for other books that are similar but have not found anything close to as exciting or with a world so easily accepted and rich with detail while being close to our reality I could easily accept it as our reality. To be fair if it were reality I sure would love to be a part of it. SOME day full immersion vr will happen and story tellers... world builders like you will make new realities for all us fleshy beings to experience.... though I fear I will just check out of reality all together if that sort of tech becomes a reality in my lifetime....... eh, worth it!

Look forward to see what comes next. Love your world building and writing style. I am sure whatever it is I will love it!
