I found book #10 at 4am (MST)It was a great book, however couldn't put it down until finished 9am Now ready for 11, etc. etc. Once I start I just can't seem to stop until I have reach the end. Please keep up the good work
"Oh! It's you, Sean, I'm sorry," Stewart said while scrambling with the covers; the two fox girls, Rachel and April as he recalled, just looked annoyed. (Stryvant, Jan. It Ain't Easy The Valens Legacy Book 10 Kindle-Position 1180-1182) I'm pretty sure that Stewart just had ONE Foxgirl, April. Rachel was a werewolf.
Could just be Sean remembering wrong, he has a lot on his plate and it is told from his point of view so it could be a comment on how much he has going on. (but ya you are likely right I n noticed that one as well)
Thank you for putting this link in your blog. I check your author page when I know that your books are coming out but it seems to take some time for a new book to show up on that list.
Just finished the book was great just like the rest , but man the whole time i was waiting for the necromancer to show up i know now thats a demon on the cover but 100% looks like a zombie
Enjoyed the complexity of the book. Very nice. It occurred to me that the President could have his own army (and Sean could have billions of dollars and perhaps military weapons) if some of the roughly six million disabled veterans (more if you count those disabled after service) in the United States were given the "Chad" treatment. The VA has an annual budget of $180 billion. In addition, this same process would be useful for forming a core lycan army for all of our allies. More billions. Reopen and refurbish places like Cheyenne Mountain for conversion and training centers, etc. Finally, Sean might want to consider a two front attack on the demons, one on earth and one on fairy. Of course, it would be useful to motivate those on fairy by giving them magic weapons Sean designs using his father's transmutation magic. Mini-nuke RPG's (5 ounces of silver) and micro-nuke hand grenades (half ounce of silver), mini-nuke mines etc. would be useful and if sold to the Fey would be a good trade for the sword magic. Just a thought. (Actually, just tired of seeing so many authors avoid spreading the benefits of magic when a better story would be to make everyone stronger by changing the world). One more thing, another source of income would be to develop a salt water to fresh water filter company. Use magic to create the non-magic tech. Several authors have touched on the idea of unknown or magical tech being used to start a tech industry, for instance, John Ringo and his grav plates in the Live Free or Die series, once the grav plates were built they could make more grave plates but the creation of the first grav plates were never explained. It's a writing trick but it's fun and would work well with a magic to tech transition. Please keep writing, fun read.
A possible plot breaker just occurred to me. Sean struggles with equipping his troops. He hasn't enough money to buy all the Blackhawks Chad wants. So why not buy one helicopter, enchant it and use the tarball program on it? Take a ton of scrap metal (train wreck) and untar the program on it. And suddenly he have two helicopters.
Same with high powered wands. Copy a wand of desintegration a few dozen times. Put them in a magazine. And 'fire' them from a rifle like contraption. Viola. More deadly than a full auto bazooka.
Problem I see with the helicopter idea is power requirement. What Sean does with charms, collars, etc and even the machines, they are all very simple mechanically, not very diverse materials wise, and if Im understanding everything right not very power intensive to transmute due to starting with high grade metals such as gold compared to the power requirement for the enchantment itself. With the helicopter hed be transmuting materials to very diverse and radically different and complex materials. Just consider what it takes to make something as relatively simple as aircraft glass as far as materials, not to mention electronics and all of the other complex synthetics that go into an aircraft. So, massive power requirement that he might not be able to channel without harm, even if he can figure out how much it would cost and charge up enough batteries. Risk probably doesnt justify the reward.
The wand gun on the other hand, that sounds like a nasty weapon. Id think Sean could easily make a machine to manufacture magical "ammo". A small chunk of wood with a spell in it rather than a wand intended to be handled and some sort of gun like contraption to cycle them, and viola, flameball machine gun. Could even go a bit simpler in a way, and just make a machine to manufacture enchanted bullets and get the magic effect in addition to the kinetic.
Ive seen a similar concepts in books with a magitech systems. Magical reactors powering spaceships and personal rail guns with hexed ammo sort of stuff. So, not a new concept, but not an overly used one either and with the way the magic system has been set up in the Valens books with Sean being the only one who could make machines to manufacture magic ammo on anything resembling an industrial scale, it wouldnt be a story breaking addition.
You may be right about the whole helicopter thing. But there are many things where copy and paste would be very handy, even on a helicopter. Enchanted turbine blades with better heat resistance? Every single one exactly as the other. Perfectly balanced? Same with rotor blades. Identical weight, identical aerodynamics. A dream for any helicopter mechanic.
Question: if I read your books on unlimited again, do you get a second payout for the rereading, or is my account tagged as having read your books already?
Authors only get payed for the first time you read something. Its also by page viewed, not the whole book as a chunk. If you only read half the pages, they get payed for just those pages, not the books full page count.
I'm trying to finish 11 as we speak. My original goal was for this Friday (26th) but I've been having to deal with a string of serious problems (like I just found out the movers we hired are scammers and we may never get our stuff back). The last two months have been just full of problems that end up taking me away from writing for a day or two at a time. :-6
Link doesn't appear to work, and I'm not seeing it on Amazon yet.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a while. Direct searches are best. Here's a link.
DeleteJust checked, book not on Amazon yet.
ReplyDeleteGo to Amazon and do a direct search then. The link is working for me and everyone else I've talked to.

DeleteThanks. I knew about the page count, but I rarely leave a book unfinished. So, for me, one equals the other.
DeleteJust wondering if there is any word on book 11 will it be out this month, early next month or later?
