There's going to be a slight delay, sorry

I want to apologize for the fact that Demon Days is going to be delayed a little. As I believe I mentioned here earlier (or may not have, I forget) I went to NY to visit family last week. While there I screwed up my back, and well, I've been in a lot of pain. While I can still write, being in pain has slowed me down quite a bit. It kind of distracts me from the creative process.

I am soldiering on to get this done, I've still got a bit more to write before it's finished. There are things I really can't put off to the next book.

So, again, I'm sorry this is running behind. Very sorry.

  1. Oh! I hope your back recovers quickly! I look forward to the release of the book. Is there an ETA that we can look forward to? Don't hurt yourself over this!

  2. Just look after yourself.

I'd rather wait a bit for the next book than have your trying to force yourself to keep on working through the pain. That's for emergencies - and no matter how much I'd like to read the next book I don't think that qualifies.

  3. I'm with Javahead, don't push yourself.

  4. I agree with Javahead. Doing martial arts and being a retired paratrooper, I have hurt my back so many times, I can't count them. Don't push it, it just makes the healing take longer and can cause you issues years later.

  5. Hey if the writer can’t write we will never get anything else, so you should be the priority overall. true fans will understand and promote that mentality.

  6. As a unfortunate owner of a back & neck with bulging and herniated discs, listen to your doctor. Remember, pain is NOT just weakness leaving the body.

  7. You have my sympathy! I tore a back muscle at work while moving a skid of parts at work, hurt like hell, and took forever to heal.

  8. Take the time to heal. Otherwise the pain will just be a distraction of the mind. That just can't be good for creative writing, now can it? I've been dealing with pain management for 19 years and one thing I'm sure of is that pain is not to be taken lightly.

  11. I often wait YEARS between books from good authors without so much as a "My bad..." from the author. Take as long as you like, its your world man.

  22. Hey, take it easy. You have readers out here who will wait. You have reached the point whre you do not have to keep churning the books out to maintain our interest.

Get well, get balanced, and get writing again :)

You have proved yourself. We will wait.

    Cheers, Andy

  23. Heal and get well. Today is the day you are supposed to either be in a stupor/coma from over eating yesterday or be sitting/laying around saying "I can't believe I ate that much yesterday". Tomorrow, start preparing for 1 Jan by going out and stocking up on Alka-Seltser, Gatorade and aspirin. That and pre-hydrating your system for the over-indulgances of New Years Eve.

    We can wait.

Enjoy the Holidays and your family. You can fire up the coffee pot later, You can never replace time lost with your family or memories your never made.

  24. I had a couple slipped disks and did inversion therapy for awhile. I know how bad lower back pain can be. I hope you're healing up well. I'm looking forward to the next book. Are you working with Audible on releasing a volume 5 publisher's pack for book 9 and 10? I enjoy doing both Kindle and the Audible versions.
