The Surgery went well

And I'll be typing one handed for probably a week. The arm is all bandaged up from jst below thw shoulder to the wrist. So I cant move the elbow or my wrist.

In a week the bandages come off and I go into a brace. Typing will be difficult because of the angles involved, but we will see. Right now it all hurts like a bitch of course. After 2 months the brace should come off, but then I have another 3 or 4 months of having to be careful (and do therapy) until is fully healed.

I'm hoping that in a few days I'll be able to get back to work, using a pencil and paper, until I can type again. One handed is kind of slow.

So, things are good, just gotta heal a bit first.

  3. I'm in the same situation, having broken my right hand. However it turns out that a quick fix to the problem is to use your phone. The speech to text programs in most phones is pretty good, so I'm writing everything I have to right using the phone to dictate and then emailing it to myself to cut and paste in Word. As you can see by looking at the right above, it's not one hundred percent perfect but a lot easier than typing one handed.

  4. Happy to hear it went well. Dont rush things. Even if you cant type or write for a while. A good and healthy recovery is more important.

  6. Bit of an odd question. Spoiler ahead

Why isnt sheila and deidra wives? Whats the difference between wives and mistresses? He obviously cares for them and wants them safe and happy. Was even willing to give them kids. Shiela especially seems EXACTLY like a wife.

    1. Obviously just my interpretation of things here but.... Diedre doesnt want to be, even though she hasnt explicitly stated it, it was implied when she spoke about her dead husband specifically and in other conversations that she was content to be Seans mistress and by her cultural standards hold a well respected position in the House beyond the emotional connection.
As for Sheila, Sean stated early on he didnt consider her as "wife material" because there didnt seem to be much to her beyond what she had been trained to be even if he didnt hold that against her and felt she would grow now she was freed. Shes obviously grown at this point in the series and it feels more like it dependent on her coming to terms with her own self worth, gaining confidence in her position, and believing she deserves what she has and then some. Compared to Roxy and the rest she lacks confidence when it comes to Sean, after all can you see her telling him off or going against what he says? If she reaches that point Id say it makes sense story wise for him to marry her.

    2. Pretty much what the other person said.
Also, Deidre is a lot more mature than Sean, that was a factor as well.
Also for Sheila, she worships him. Yes, she loves him as well, but she has zero backbone when dealing with him. It's not exactly a relationship of equals.

  8. Always good to be on the other side of the surgery, even with the pain. Once you get the damned splint/cast off, and the swelling goes down the pain will lessen dramatically.

    Best wishes on the recovery.

  9. Best wishes to a speedy recovery. Of course take care of you first but speech to text could be a much less painful way to go about it if you want to continue to write. Look forward to your future books!
