Yes I should be writing

The book's at about 56K words and I'm almost ready to wrap up the first draft, though I do have a handful of scenes I need to go back and write. But for all that I've had a fairly productive week, it's been a week full of interruptions. And we just got a puppy, so the current dog is combination excited and I think freaking out.

Thankfully I'm not the one who has to take care of the puppy, but our other dog is my dog, so I have to deal with him. I'm hoping he calms down tomorrow. So I can calm down.

The house in California sold yesterday! So that's out of my hair. When a bunch of squatters broke in I was worried, but we got them out and cleaned up the mess (or my neighbors, realtor, and the police did, I'm 1800 miles away, so all I can do is worry and sign checks).

Our Furniture is supposed to arrive tomorrow or Saturday. And the rest of the stuff we hired the movers to move. There were a lot of worries there the last few days as it's been over a month. But I'm hopeful this has been resolved.

The garage into a den remodel is done and looks great. Once the carport is done, there are a few minor things to do with the other garage, and all the major crap we needed dealt with is finished. Yea.

There are dozens of tasks I still need to deal with, and I'm hoping that once this book is done I can take a couple of days to knock them out before I start on the next one. The title of this book is most likely going to be: 'Red Skies' but I'm having trouble coming up with the cover scene. Sometimes it's easy, and sometimes it's not. I'd hoped to be going to press tomorrow, but with all of the stuff that happened last week (the house issue was just one of them, there were a bunch, and they all demanded my attention), it got pushed back. But it is coming, and it should be ready soon.

Thanks all!

  2. My daughter lives in Austin, so I know about the "little bit" of rain you recieved the past couple of weeks (I live out near Abilene). I am an Army Brat and retired soldier so I am very familiar with moving and waiting for furniture and household goods to arrive. I am a dog trainer. If you need help or advise on dogs let me know. Can't wait for the new book to come out. Keep up the GREAT WORK! I love reading your books.

  3. I’m looking forward to he next book. But I want to ask. After I saw that shadow was going to become an audiobook I decided I would get it and see if it was good. (Sorry, I like you as an author but some stories just aren’t my thing even if the writing is good.). Shadow however was amazing, surprisingly so. I did not think I would like it but I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting. So I have to ask. Will there be a book 2? And if so when would u likely start it? I also love valens legacy and have every book so far.

    1. I've been considering it. There are a number of pieces of the original that never made it into print that I've been debating what to do with.

I've also spent some time thinking about where the story would go next. So it may happen, I just need to get a few more things done with Valens first.
