What's in the Queue

Okay, thought I would take a minute to let you all know what's going on right now. The next installment of Wives Tales is what I'm currently working on. I'm hoping to have Peg and Cali's entries done very soon.

Book #13, will probably start right after I finish that.

However. I don't know if any of you have read Blaise Corvin's Asgard Awakening, or William D. Arand's Cultivating Chaos of their combined VeilVerse universe. I'm currently reading Blaise's and it's -really- good. Once I finish that I'll read Williams, which I expect to be equally good. The reason I'm mentioning this is that they have invited me to write a novel in their universe as well, and I'm seriously considering it. It's kind of hard to turn an offer like that down, after all.

So if I do decide to write that book, I'll start working on it either while writing #13 or after writing it. I'm actually messing around with plot ideas for that book right now. I just need to read Will's first, so I can be sure I fit in.

There will be another Portal's of Infinity, of course. I'll probably write it after I finish #14 in the Valens series. I want to see if I can start working on two books at once again, something I used to do but haven't done in over a year. Usually writing the second book goes at a slower pace, but it still gets done. I wrote about ten books last year, my goal for this year is twelve. Will be interesting to see if I can do that or not.

Anyway, back to work...

  1. Great news then! William D Stand/ Randi Darren is one of my favourite author's. Recently his work has been slipping tho with actively destroying a core char in his universe for no reason other than to make other chars look "cooler" I guess, and in the dumbest immersion breaking ways :/ Cultivating Chaos is a great book up until the last few pages where I honestly went "wtf is he thinking" plot wise. Corbin is great to but a bit of a slow author's and I've stopped waiting for more of his series to come out.. The veilverse thing they got going is very interesting tho and I think you would fit very well in it. I just hope they don't let John Ringo join it, that Author is still pissing me off 7 years after what he did to "Into the looking glass" and other projects he screws with.

    1. I'm curious as well. considering I've read every book, I'm trying to figure out who was killed off... I am thinking this is a case of wrong author/book, since everything in Arand's books has made sense.

  2. So any idea what mythos you would want to cover in the VeilVerse?

  3. Oooh Ilove hearing you may do a Veilverse book, have already re-read both books. Hope you do write it, because I would love to read your take on it. Good luck on the double book writting.

  4. You should definitely write a Veilverse book. I loved both of the current books in that universe and the more the merrier.

  5. Definitely excited to hear you've been invited to write a Veilverse novel. Loved both of the books from a universe starting point perspective, and I think your style will fit right in. Just need to make sure there is at least one cat-like character, right? Thanks for what you've put out so far, and I continue to look forward to each new novel.

  7. Great News Jay about the invite! The only thing I ask is that you keep your sex scenes as is. You are one of the very few authors who can make them flow seamlessly into a story.

  8. Do you know who Michael Anderlay is? He did something similar and lost me as a reader due to too many writing styles some of which I couldn't stand, however if you skipped one author you lost too much of the main story line thus you couldn't figure out what was going on. He totally lost me as a reader of his own work in those universe even because of that, and he personaly is a great writer. So just be careful of that pit fall

    1. Yes, I'm familiar with him. I'm also familiar with that problem. If I were to bring other people into the universe, I would spin them off to other characters so that wouldn't happen.

  9. I am and avid follower of Sean and wives in the Valens Legacy however I put off reading portals for fear that they wouldn't be as good. this has happen before however while waiting for #13 VL I tried portals ended up reading all 8 books in 3 1/2 days now wish I had read the series sooner Now I find myself waiting for the next Valens Legacy & Portals book thank you for such excellent writing and keep it up

    1. Thank you very much. Yes, there will be more Portals, though it will progress at a slower pace than Valens has been.

You might find 'Wolf Killer' interesting, or my 'Days of Future Past' trilogy.
(And no, I didn't get the name from the comic, I stole it fair and square from the same place they did! :-) )

  10. Both very good books but I found Williams was 'marginally' better.

  11. I may check out those book series; however, I am always checking for a new Valen's Legacy novel or one from another series I'm following. William's Sale on Supers series is a new one for me. I like Dakota Krout's two series and Aaron Crash's American Dragons series. Hopefully, between you all, I may always have a new book or audiblebook to enjoy. Keep up the good work, Jans. The Valen's Legacy series is one of my favorites.

  12. I was just wondering, are you going to be releasing the wifes book 3 this month then release book 13 next month or are you going to release book 13 a week after book 3?

    1. Wives Tales #3 is finished. Well, the first draft it. I'll probably send it out to the editor tonight and it'll be up for sale soon.
