So umm, guess what? About that guy.... ;-)

So yeah, that guy who wrote a book that seems very suspiciously like mine? Who then claimed NOT to be that guy who did it to me last time?

Yeah... Right... At this point I'm 99.9 percent certain that it's the same guy. That he just came back at me AGAIN, just a little more carefully this time. So based on that, his claim not to have even known who I was until his book was done is quite bogus.

It also means that he has even less of a chance at winning a lawsuit. I think it would put his chances into actual negative numbers.  (before they were simply 0)

Now yeah, there is a very very very very very small chance that this is someone else, so I'm not going to claim it as a legal fact, but in my personal opinion, it's him. Why he is obsessed with me, especially after the spanking he got last time, is beyond me. If he'd been a man, when he got caught with his hand in the cookie jar, he would have at least owed up to it. But instead, he immediately started jumping up and down and screaming that he didn't take those cookies, while the chocolate was still smeared all over his face.

All I ever did was said I was annoyed by it. I never once made any threats, legal or otherwise. I never even told anyone to give him bad reviews or engage in any other improper behavior. Most of the bad reviews predated my even posting about it. I even specifically told folks that if they wanted to read it, I didn't care, and if they enjoyed it, I didn't mind. I don't think I have the right to tell you, my readers and my fans, what you should like and shouldn't like. Not my business. My business is to try and provide you with a quality story that you will enjoy.

I have some thoughts on all of this, that I think I may address in later posts. They're not about this guy, which is why I will post them separately. But they are about some lessons I've learned in life that I think folks may benefit from.

Thanks all of you for reading me, and thanks all of you who told me about this guy. Several more people have written in private with more tidbits that I've found interesting. Again, thank you.

  1. For a person who claims innocence, he's really fixated on not moving on despite his claims.

Again he does have potential as writer but he really should separate himself from your great work, but people we be people as the saying goes!

    1. I agree, but that does not excuse someone ripping off a great author like Jan!

I know the old saying if you take ideas from one author it's plageriarism, but if you take ideas from multiple authors it's called research!

      This guy is the former!

    1. started on it last night. I have to spend the day at the dentist (deep cleaning and a chipped tooth to fix. Was there a long while yesterday getting a temp crown put in). So it's taking me a little longer to get going than I had hoped to.

    2. After the dentist you might see if there are still tickets available for "Cats" tonight and take your wife to see it. My wife just left a few hours ago to take our daughter to see it.

I read the book you have been discussing. I wasn't impressed. I was easily able to plug his events into where they fell in your books. I would say that he may have promise as an author if he could use his own imagination and muse and not plagerize others.

    1. Because of all the stuff going on this last month (arm injury, dental issues, legal issues, etc) the veil book has been moving along a lot slower than I had thought it would. The Valens book is more important, because that has an audience with expectations that I've committed to. So that will take priority, though I am still working on the veil book, just at a slower rate. That book is only about 1/5th done, currently.

  6. Read the first book of Island Hopper, not going to read the others, MC is 2-D. The girls are not interesting, and the plot is thin. There's no humor, no life. Going head to head with Tamer it came in a poor second.

    1. Yeah, MSE has always impressed me. I discovered him back in mid 2017 and have enjoyed his stuff ever since.

    2. As a fan of MSE and Tamer you have me curious. Who is the author and series name so I can compare the two.

    3. Sorry, I don't want to drive any business his way. Bad enough he has to copy me. I'm not going to help him out by sending people his way to buy his book. Especially not when he keeps threatening to sue me for libel.
I tell ya, the nerve of some people. They rip you off and then they threaten you.

  7. Can anyone tell me who the person he is talking about is or what the book is called?? I'm honestly just curious

  8. I see MSE talk about that guy a lot. I have no interest in even looking at one of his books. I have no respect for someone like that.

Anyways I came here to sub so I can find out the when the next book will be out. (I Listen to it on audio while I work) Its the only time I really have to Listen to a book.

Im sure I am not the only one waiting to find out what happens next. You really left us hanging! XD

  9. The good news is that I haven't come across the book you're talking about. You're probably wise to stay as clear as possible. Your readers will catch on and go away. Those numbers should cut his profits. His other readers might find you? The problem with plagiarism is genre tropes. Bandwagon and all that. The romance genre is supposed to be incredibly nasty turf.

Then you have totally unwarranted accusations. A certain podcaster and followers and associates really went after an author (for a friend?). Of course the podcast reviews likely cost him reader counts. When the rankings didn't tank and everyone called balderdash, the author filed a plagiarism claim with Amazon and got the book suspended. Happily the Amazon investigation found the claim wasn't supported and reinstated the book. I believe there was some solid, dated, copyright documentation so there could have been some surprise blowback? Both authors are still on Amazon, but the accused author is still getting dissed. Happily, it just doesn't much matter at this point.

I kind of miss "Tamer". I found the first book under a different author? If that was a ghost written series, maybe the author could get clearance to publish it.
